Waxing FAQ

Why choose waxing?

Waxing damages the hair follicle, leading to less growth and thinning of the hair over time. It is a safe

and effective way to remove body or facial hair. With consistent waxing you can expect to see a

dramatic decrease in thickness and amount of hair that grows back.

How long should my hair be to get waxed?

The normal rule of thumb is to wait until the hair has reached about a grain of rice in length.

However, if you have been a consistent waxer, your hair can be considerably shorter. Email or call

us if you are not sure if your hair is long enough for your wax.

Who should be careful with waxing?

Anyone that has damage to an area being waxed such as cuts or scrapes, sunburns or recent

abrasive skin care services. You should avoid waxing if you are currently taking Accutane or Retinol.

Accutane must be stopped at least 6 months before waxing and Retinol use can be discontinued the

week before your service.

What type of wax do you use?

We are a strip wax studio, also known as soft wax. This type of wax allows us to speed wax so you

are in and out before your body even has time to catch up. It is a more advanced form of waxing that

offers a cleaner finish and less pain. Our house made pre and post wax formulas also decrease

uncomfortability dramatically.

Does waxing hurt?

With our pre and post care, speed of waxing, and calm yet inviting space, most clients report their

first times being much less painful than expected. I am right there with you through every step and I

always monitor discomfort and adjust accordingly.

What is the dif erence between a Bikini, French Bikini, & Brazilian wax ?

Every studio calls types of intimate waxing different names, but the main difference is the amount of

hair being removed. The Bikini Wax offers the least amount of removal. Picture wearing a normal

bikini bottom and all of the hair outside of the bikini would be removed. This includes hair in both

creases of the hips and the top. The French Bikini will leave about a 2 inch strip of hair running from

the top of the intimate area to the bottom and everything else is removed, including any hair on the

backside (of course optional). This service is a great option for anyone wanting a cleaned up but

natural look or who are building up to the full Brazilian. The Brazilian takes it all. All the hair on the

front and the back is removed. You are still able to request a strip or diamond be left at the top if

desired. Of course the backside is always optional and decided based on your comfortability.

What should you avoid after your wax?

For the day after your wax it is best to avoid hot showers, hot tubs, steam rooms, intense workouts

or anywhere you could be exposed to bacteria. Your hair follicles are wide open and more

susceptible to infection right after a wax. Try to keep the area dry, cool, and clean for 24 to 48 hours

after your service.

Do you offer threading?

We do not offer threading. However, we use a special Chocolate Wax formulated specifically for the

face and other sensitive areas. This allows us to achieve a very similar outcome to Threading, as

this wax is perfect for anyone with sensitive skin and creates very little redness.

Do you wax men?

Yes! We do not offer Brazilians for men, however every other waxing service is available for all

genders.
